MUCH cooler conditions can be expected throughout the interior following today's change with temperatures were likely to range 2-5 degrees Celcius below average tomorrow, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
BOM meteorologist Helen Reid said frosts were also expected in the southern and south eastern interior.
"Fresh and gusty winds expected about south eastern districts today and Wednesday as a low developing off the NSW coast combines with a ridge over the state," Ms Reid said.
"Elevated fire dangers are likely across eastern and northern districts today, as dry air spreads across much of the state."
BOM says there will be showers and there is the chance of a thunderstorm in the far north on Thursday, as a trough lingers in the area.
Renewed river rises are also possible in the Border Rivers region from today following recent rainfall.
BOM says inland temperatures should increase over the weekend, with the chance of showers and possible thunderstorm activity returning.
