Final 2020-Season Advance payment
The final QSL Advance payment for the 2020 Season was made this week to all QSL growers except those in Mackay milling districts. Unfortunately Mackay Sugar yesterday advised that due to technical issues they cannot provide the data required for Mackay growers' final 2020-Season QSL payment until 29 July. This means that the final 2020-Season payment for these growers has been delayed until next Friday, 30 July.

Showing off our industry
QSL was a proud supporter of this year's Mossman Show Cane Competition through its QSL Grow program. Congratulations to Royce Scomazzon (pictured) who took out the QSL sponsored 'Class 3 - Six Heavy sticks of any one variety' as well as Most Successful and Champion Exhibit.
Thanks to
Mossman Agricultural Services and Next Gen Community for organising.
See the QSL Grow section below for other planned events supported by this program.
Staff departure
QSL General Manager Operations Damian Ziebarth recently finished with the business due to ill health. Damian made an extraordinary contribution to QSL during his nine years at the helm of QSL Operations and played a key role in transforming the way QSL approaches workplace health and safety. The entire QSL team wishes Damian a speedy and full recovery, and thanks him sincerely for his dedication, friendship and hard work. Recruitment for the GM Operations role is underway, with Dean O'Brien currently acting in this role.
Committed pricing levels
As of 1 July 2021, QSL growers have been able to access additional GEI tonnage to price in the 2023 and 2024 Seasons, with committed pricing levels now as follows:

To access QSL pricing, you must first have a GEI Sugar Marketing nomination in place for the season in question. See your local QSL team for details or help with the nomination process.

New GST arrangements – Wilmar districts

QSL's new simplified GST arrangements for our growers in Wilmar milling districts are now in place. As part of this change, these growers are now also receiving improved statements incorporating a Tax Summary section highlighting the key QSL figures for their bookwork.
